The Joint Equal Opportunity Initiative – Phase II project is to improve livelihoods of Moldovan population including most vulnerable men and women through more inclusive policies. The project is focused on inclusive policy making and implementation at national and local level through empowerment and engagement of CSOs and their networks. The advocacy and watchdog efforts will be concentrated on policy areas that are key to social cohesion.
At the national level, the project will enable CSO networks representing the vulnerable, especially people with disabilities, Roma people, youth and elderly people, to act for inclusive policies, designing and implementing joint advocacy agendas focused on indicative policy areas mentioned above. Due attention will be paid to facilitating CSO networks’ cooperation and partnerships with local CSOs. The project will also facilitate dialogue and cooperation between CSO networks to identify synergies and promote solidarity among various groups.
At the local level, the project will work in three targeted districts, empowering local CSOs and initiative groups representing the marginalized to participate in decision-making process, raise human rights awareness, promote activism and mobilization for local development. The action will also build the capacity of local authorities, facilitating the establishment of participatory mechanisms at the district and village level. In addition, the project will facilitate communication and coordination of local CSO and initiative groups with national CSO networks for joint advocacy.
