National Endowment for Democracy

East Europe Foundation Moldova (EEF-M) received from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) a grant in the amount of $97,000 to implement the “Fostering Free and Fair Elections” project during 2010. The project was designed to educate citizens, mobilize voters, and monitor the polls for Moldova’s referendum and 2010 early parliamentary elections, thereby fostering free, fair and transparent elections in the country.

The second grant was offered by NED in 2012 in the amount of $33,000 for the “Party and Campaign Finance Transparency through Enlarging the Donors Base” project. This initiative aimed at increasing transparency in party and campaign financing by promoting regulatory changes and public oversight through amending existing legislation and organizing public debates, advocacy and investigative journalism campaigns. Within the project EEF-M partnered with the main actors in the field: Central Electoral Commission, the Ministry of Justice, the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, OSCE Mission to Moldova and the Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections
