The project “Civic Engagement for Democratic Governance and Social Cohesion” aims to strengthen civil society in the Republic of Moldova to contribute to democratic participation, social cohesion, and European integration. The project targets civil society organizations at national, regional, and local levels.
The project supports the development of civil society organizations’ capacities by strengthening national platforms, activating civil society at local and regional levels, and promoting inter-regional partnerships. Trainings, mentoring activities, exchange of experience, and joint initiatives will be organized to support civic engagement and cooperation among organizations.
Within the project, grants will be provided for civic initiatives, community mobilization, inter-regional partnerships, and the development of national civil society platforms.
Overall objective of the project:
Strengthening civil society in the Republic of Moldova to contribute to democratic governance, social cohesion, and active civic participation.
Specific objectives:
- Strengthening the capacity of national civil society platforms to influence and monitor public policies.
- Activating civil society at local and regional levels by developing civic competencies and mobilizing communities.
- Increasing cooperation among organizations through the development of inter-regional partnerships and exchange of experience.
Expected results:
- Over 300 civil society organizations supported directly and indirectly.
- At least 34 grants awarded for civic initiatives.
- Over 50 public policies influenced at local and national levels.
- Over 10,000 citizens engaged in participatory processes.
- Strengthened cooperation among organizations at regional and national levels.
