Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation
East Europe Foundation Moldova initiated its cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) under the “Joint Equal Opportunity Initiative” Project in 2015. During the first phase of the project, the goal of the initiative was to improve the situation of most marginalized and vulnerable men and women in Moldova by mainstreaming equality into policy making by the Government and Parliament. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) provided 3,942,124 MDL to support the first phase of this initiative.
For 2017 – 2021 the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) offers support for a new phase of the project that aims to improve livelihoods and social cohesion of Moldovan population including most vulnerable men and women through more inclusive policies. The Joint Equal Opportunity initiative is focused on inclusive policy-making and implementation at national and local level through empowerment and engagement of CSOs and their networks. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) provides 47,499,519 MDL to support this phase of the initiative.
The project explores the human rights based approach, the principles of equality and non-discrimination, transparency, participation and accountability.
